My 13-year journey as an artist has taught me many lessons, and I've welcomed each moment as a chance to learn and grow. There were times when the learning journey felt overwhelming, leaving me to wonder, "Why isn't there a plethora of spaces to help someone like me, and what's with all this gatekeeping?" As a mother, student, and multifaceted creator (among many other roles), pursuing what you love shouldn't be a struggle.
Information should be easily accessible for those who learn differently, and online communities must continue to be thoughtfully created and curated so we can support each other. Think of me as your emotionally available best friend ---always ready to lend a hand and some resourceful suggestions.
